Women 100 years ago & women today

There are many differences between women 100 years ago and women today. That shows a fact that time makes changes on everything. Around the world, women have gone through many changes through history and have passed by many situations that have turned them the women that are today. Because of this, I am going to compare some aspects that are evidently different between a woman 100 years ago and a woman today.

One first difference I find between women 100 years ago and women today is the way of dressing. Before, women used to be seen wearing long dresses and long underwear as well. In accordance to Sarah (2009) “fashionable women during the first decade of the 20th century needed morning dresses, afternoon dresses, simple dresses that didn’t fit in a specific occasion, and evening dresses.” Women were usually bad seen or judged if they wore jeans or short skirts in that time. Women also used to wear big size hats and long haircuts because short haircuts were also judged. If we look for a bit of history, “women began wearing more pants due to World War II” (Sarah, 2009). Women today use long dresses but only for special occasions. Women today are allowed to use pants as well as men, and also depending on tastes women also use short skirts, short dresses, shorts, t-shirts, etc.

Before, women were not allowed to express themselves that much. As mentioned by reComparison Contributor: “100 years ago women did not have the right to vote- only to sit and watch.” (Contributor). Women were under men conditions and that is why there was a lot of machismo before, because women were not allowed to express their view. Now, women vote and have more freedom of expression. ReComparison Contributor expresses that “now women not only vote but also run for Presidency” (Contributor). Because they can already express themselves they are now able to run their own lives even without a man’s help.

The situations in which women 100 years ago have been involved, have been different, but let’s focus just in some. Before, women were not allowed to work, men were in charge of performing that activity, so women were the ones in charge of home issues. Women were neither in conditions of studying because the largest amount could not afford it. Talking about relationships, men were who spoke to women and took them away to marry them. That is why women got married and had children too young. And also “it was a crime to go outside the marriage” (Contributor), so women had to faithful to the man who they got married. Nowadays, women are able to perform any job in the industry of work and can also manage the jobs that were only men’s in the past. A higher women amount now gets pregnant at a later age after completing their studies or while working. They usually maintain longer relationships before getting married. Also women can have many relationships to whoever they want.

As we saw previously there are many differences between women 100 years ago and women nowadays. Times change and people change and time itself has a great influence in people’s life, thoughts, dressing, traditions, etc., and that will keep continuing throughout its progress. Women have had lots of changes and that is why they look different today, and the thing is they will keep changing.

Refutation: They are illegal products and do not have guarantee or the same original products’ quality.
-          Damages piracy produces
Conclusion

Why many people prefer buying movies and music through piracy?

“We have a piratical dad”. This is a common phrase used in commercial films to make people conscious of what they are buying. It is even included a short story showing that buying non-authorized products is something that will affect a persons’ life. Currently, people buy these products since piracy has appeared to be more available than original products. I notice that people are more interested in getting the products in situations that are more advantageous for them. So, despite piracy is illegal, it has become the obtaining of the same products in an easier way.

Piracy is evidently found everywhere. Since the government and police have done nothing to stop it, piracy marketing has even grown within the years. Movies and music, for example, are some examples of the most sold products which can be found even in places around neighborhoods. Other places in which piracy can be commonly found are flea markets. In these places there are many stands in which people can find any piracy products they may purchase. Even though original products are found in specific places that are not difficult to locate, piracy products keep being within people reach.

People always look for economic prices and piracy has offered since the beginning more accessible prices than original products. Because original products have always appeared with very high prices, people do not buy them. This also opened the doors to piracy to start selling their products for catching people’s interest on buying the same products by very lower prices. It has been very evident that not all the people have enough money to get an original CD or DVD, which leads to their decision on buying a very cheaper copy. Also, it has been considered that buying an original DVD equals to buying 8 to 10 copies done by piracy.

Despite the relevance of piracy products may have, by buying them are contributing to the illegal copyright of original products that are offered to people. According to the International Intellectual Property Alliance (IIPA) (2007) the level of piracy has increased slightly in 2006 by two percentage points (from 65% to 67%) due to mostly the spread of street vendors in south and central Mexico (p. 81).The damaging amount gained by all the illegal sales done by piracy have produced many earning losses to company producers in charge of providing the original products. The IIPA establishes that 176 million illegal copies were sold in 2005 over only 25 million legal sold DVDs (p. 81). Besides, piracy will be growing considerably since it will keep distributing and offering users its produce. Also, inasmuch as piracy is the non-authorized copyright of the original products, it does not offer a guarantee or good quality.

Concluding, consumers do not try do damage the economy of the producers but getting the products that have been provided in a non-available price through piracy, which has always offered economic prices. The copies that piracy has lately made have been improving, and they may not have the same quality as original ones, but are tried to be. But, it is true that not all piracy producers offer the same quality and none of them reliability, so each person will decide which products to get according to their expectations.

Descriptive Essay :)

Outline

Topic: My Angel

Introduction
- Little description of few memories

Body
*Internal & external beauty
- Qualities she had
*Strenghts & dedication to life
-Tireness
- Hard work
*Without her presence
- What I feel know

Conclusion
- Huge angel in sky

*My Angel*

I was a little baby when I first saw her. My endless devotion towards her grew splendidly since her soft and vevelty hands touched me for the first time. She had a stunning sight which covered me as a genuiness and warm blanket and a divine voice that transmitted an infinite bliss. I knew I would love her forever. Nonetheless, now her presence started to disappear from the earth, turning her the biggest angel that rests on a tender cloud. Delightful memories are what I have left from her, together with a sorrowful pain that a sudden goodbye produced.

She was internally and externally beautiful. She had an authentic way of showing people that she cared about them. Her jovial presence could be easily caught by anyone, who would adore her seconds later. She had the most humble soul, just  like a white angel that came from the highest place to give and share heart's best feelings. Besides, she had the most lovely face that God could have made for a woman and a snowy skin that provided her family an extraordinary attachment. All her virtues ended up to be unfailing.

The strenght she had to face life was amazing. Her immense devotion to her three daughters was incomparable, and her unbreakable union to her loved husband was eternal. Through hard work the sacrifices she made were countless and the salty tears of despair were many. Although she never stopped fighting the adversities, her body started to look quite tired. Her hands became rougher since she liked keeping everything in entirely order. Her bright eyes never stopped shinning until their light was turned out by the sweat of her forehead. She gave everything she had with an endless love.

Life became harder without her presence. Now I look foward to restarting everything she left undone. However, it produces the most distressing pain not to hear her sweet voice again, or to simply breath her perfumed scent while feeling her warm and affectionate hug. Her melting kisses and her unceasing support are what I will miss the most the rest of my life. It is a bitter taste to think she is not here with me anymore and the value that her memories have in my broken heart is priceless. Her undying memory will live in my mind until my soul joins hers.

Even though she is peacefully resting, her absence will be still hurting my heart. My job now is to continue what her self-sacrificing hands started to do and try to make her being proud of me. Life is short and worthy of living until the end. Now, her extraordinary soul will be flying in heaven until I can reach her. She is my huge angel that motivates me to keep going and the most noble for me. She not only gave me life, but also she heaped me with immense love. All my overlasting respect to this wondrous mother and wife that now is back to the highest place.

Introductory Essay
My history is not as simple as it seems. My name is Lucía, but my family and friends call me Lucy. I am 20 years old and I am from Aguascalientes, a beautiful city of Mexico. My father’s name is Oscar and he is an exceptional person who has coped with many challenges in life. I have two sisters both younger than me, their names are Andrea and Karen. I also have a beautiful white cat named Tuki which has been with me for three years. I like to spend time with all of them and I also like watching movies, listening to music, dancing and especially I like to spend time with my boyfriend Williams. Well, all these are just some basic aspects of my life.
There are many things that happened in my past. First of all, I was born on June 22, 1991 and since I was a baby my grandmother looked after me because my parents worked. She was in charge of taking me to kinder garden every morning. Then, I studied in Marista Elementary School for only 2 years and then I was changed to Jean Piaget School in which I finish my primary education.  My secondary education was fulfilled in the Técnica No.1 Secondary School. In the time I was finishing this education I was put through a very difficult situation which completely changed the course of my life, so my grades were decreasing. Then, I studied high school in the Cbtis 168 were I met my current boyfriend. In that time I decided to study English, so I started studying it in Harmon Hall but this just lasted for about three months because I was not able to afford it, so I quit studying English.
Today I study a B.A. in English Language Teaching which I love. I have always liked English language so I saw it as an opportunity to learn it. Also throughout the course I have realized that I like teaching and that I may be good at it.  Besides my B.A., my family and me are moving on and keep trying to live without sadness and despair in order to succeed in life. My boyfriend is a very important person in my life and I try to be with him as much as I can and enjoy with him the good moments. Nowadays I have many friends in the University who have supported me in many ways and have been with me whenever I need them.
I want to do many things in my future and the first one is to finish my B.A. and get my degree. Then, I hope to find a good job that meets the expectations I want and get a chance to study a master degree while I am working to afford it. I would like also to visit the United States and England so I know more people and interact with them. I want to help my father with my sisters’ education and I want to form a family with my boyfriend.
All the mentioned aspects make my life to make sense, my family, my boyfriend, my B.A., my friends, and everything I want for me in the future. My family has given me strength to keep going and the things that I like to do motivate me every day. Since I was little my parents taught me to be strong and to pursue what I want. I hope to really succeed and to get what it takes to have a prosperous life.
